From Nevada Representative April 25, 1877

Iowa Centre Items.

Theresa Bentley, daughter of Jno. P. Bentley of Deer Grove, was drowned in Indian Creek on the 12th inst. The young lady was not perfectly "compos mentis" and was subject to fits. The supposition is that she went to the creek, took off her shoes and stockings, waded to the opposite side, sat down on a log, at the edge of the creek to put on her shoes, a fit coming upon her she fell forward in the stream, and was drowned in water about 5 inches deep, her shoes and one stocking was laying near the log, the other stocking was in her hand, which warrants the above conclusion.
