DEATH OF MISS MAY WILLIGROD.-- "The air is filled with farewells of the dying." The sad intelligence of the death of Miss May Willigrod reached the home circle, of which she had long been the light and joy, Monday afternoon. She died at Battle Creek, Mich., of paralysis of the brain. She had resigned her position in the public schools of this city at the close of the winter term, on account of her health. Her friends thinking change of scene and travel would be beneficial, she, accompanied by her father and mother, visited friends in Davenport. From there her father accompanied her to the Water-Cure establishment at Battle Creek, at which place they fondly hoped she would soon be restored to her accustomed health. News came again and again that May was being benefited and would soon be home well and happy. And the loved and waiting ones little dreamed
"What shadowy form arose between them,
And with ice fingers wrote:
Ye shall meet no more."The sympathies of the entire community will go out tenderly toward this broken home circle, which is so darkly clouded by the power of the death-angel. The pervading feeling is one of loss to the entire community, for Miss Willigrod was among the fairest and best of Marshalltown's many worthy daughters, and, though young, her life was full of promise for long years of joy and usefulness.--Marshall Republican.
