INDIAN CREEK MAN MET SUDDEN DEATH

SAM MISHLER THROWN TO GROUND AND LOADED WAGON PASSED OVER BODY

Sudden death came to Sam Mishler, 80-year-old farmer residing south of Maxwell, when he was thrown from the tongue of a wagon and the loaded vehicle passed over his chest, breaking the bones of one arm and otherwise bruising and mutilating the body, Friday of last week.

The old gentleman wa hauling corn on the John Garlock farm south of Maxwell when the accident happened that resulted in his death. After loading the wagon and starting to drive from the yard the lines apparently became entangled and in stepping onto the tongue withthe intention of straightening them out, Mr. Mishler lost his footing and fell under the wheels of the loaded wagon, which crushed the life out of the aged man.

Several men working nearby witnessed the accident and hurried to Mr. Mishler's aid, but found that he had been instantly killed, and the body was taken to the home near by.

The wife, two daughters and one son survive the father and husband, all of whom have lived in the Maxwell vicinity for a number of years and are well known.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from Mt. Zion church, largely attended by sorrowing friends of the family.
