From Story County Watchman August 12, 1904

Mrs. E. H. Holmes died at her home in Ottawa, Kansas, on the 5th of August after an illness of some duration and the interment was in the Cemetery at that point. Mrs. Holmes will be remembered by her many friends hereabouts having been the main assistant of her husband near the postoffice for several years before going to that state.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The deceased was married to Frank H. Holmes (not E. H. Holmes as stated) and they are listed in the 1900 Nevada, Story County, Iowa census. Both she and her husband are buried in the Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas.
