William McMichael died at his home in this city Wednesday afternoon at the age of eighty-three years and 28 days. His health had been failing for the past year and during the last three weeks his decline was rapid. He was born in Landaster county, Pennsylvania, in 1822, moving to Ohio with his parents in 1838. He was married to Ann Scott in 1847 at Lisbon, Ohio. In 1854 he came to Iowa, settling in Davenport, removing to Story county in 1857 to a farm four miles north of Ames. Mr. McMichael was a member of the Congregational church and many years was a deacon of that church. He was one of a family of nine children and is surived by his brother Mathew of Ames, R. H. of Lisbon, Ohio, and Mrs. Isabel Kemble of Ohio. The funeral will be held today at 2 o'clock from the Congregational church, Rev. Herr officiating.
