From Story County Watchman August 25, 1905

An old time resident of Story County Robert J. Bryant died from a cancer on Tuesday last after a prolonged illness therefrom. He has long been a patient sufferer from this disease and the end somes no unexpectedly at this time. All have been anticipated this result form some time still it comes as a shock. He was a well to do farmer just out of town and stood high with his neighbors. The age of Mr. Bryant was 68 years, 7 months and 16 days. He came to Story County in Oct. 1860 and has made it his home since that time. He leaves five daughters to look forward to the meeting in the future.
