From Story County Watchman October 3, 1902

Word has been received at this office that Mrs. Stephen Carhart died at her home in Mapleton, Iowa, on the 19th of September, at the advanced age of 91 years and one month. The family formerly lived in this city and she will be kindly remembered by many who will be sorry to know that the end has come at last even though at the ripe age indicated. She was a native of Cornwall, England, coming to this country at an early age.
