Ames Times: ....Leslie Newton Poage was born near Newton, Iowa, November 20, 1869, and died of cancer of the stomach, at his mother's home*, October 4, 1902, at the age of 32 years, 10 months and 14 days.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Leslie Newton Poage's mother was Harriet Eliza (Scott) Poage of Newton, Jasper County, Iowa. He was buried in the Wittemberg Cemetery, Newton, Jasper County, Iowa.
