--Mrs. J. H. Burroughs was called upon to mourn the death of her mother a few days ago at Tipton, Iowa, and herself and husband were there at the last rites on Saturday. Mrs. Rider has been in our community and was somewhat acquainted with many of our people, all of whom extend sympathy to the parties.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. J. H. Burroughs" was Anna Mary (Rider) Burroughs, wife of Joseph H. Burroughs. According to WPA Records, Rachel (McDonald) Rider was born 2 Nov 1823 and died 7 Aug 1902 and was buried in Masonic Cemetery, Center Twp., Cedar County, Iowa. It is noted she was the wife of C. E. Rider (Christian E. Rider.)
