From Story County Watchman August 15, 1902

Colo Banner: ....George Frahmein, a young man 16 years old, living in Sherman township died on Monday with diphtheria. The remains were buried in an air tight sealed coffin and no funeral service was held. He had been sick but a few days but the disease rapidly passed beyond the control of the physicians. One other child in the family is sick with the same disease but it is thought it will recover.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to death records, "George Frohwien" was born in Marshall County in 1887 and died in Sherman Township, Story County, Iowa on 30 July 1902.
