The first of the week on of the oldest settlers of Story county was called upon to meet the furture in the person of Geo. Dye, who passed to great beyond on Monday at the of about 90 years. He died near Ames and the remains were interred in the McDaniel cemetry south-east of town. He was one of the first settlers in the county and well known to all the older citizens as a gentleman of integrity and honor.
