From Story County Watchman July 26, 1901

DIED:--In this city on Sunday last Thos. O'Donnell, aged about 100 years. He was a native of Ireland coming to this country in 1856 and settling in Pennsylvania, and then moved to Iowa and made this county his home. He moved to this city a few years since and settled in what is now the the second ward. He leaves a wife aged about 93 years and several grown up children to look forward to a reuniting in the future. John O'Donnell, Mrs. Maggie Doyle, Mrs. Annie McCoy, Mrs. Lizzie Malony, and Miss Bridget O'Donnell. The funeral was held from the Catholic church on Tuesday under the ministration of Father Nichols, after which the remains were tenderly consigned to the Catholic cemetery at this point. He has long been a resident of this county and always stood high in the esteem of his friends and associates who will look forward to a future where parting shall be no more.
