From Story County Watchman March 8, 1901

On Wednesday Jacob Taylor died at his residence south of town at quite an advanced age and the last rites will be held at 10 a. m. on Saturday and the remains taken to Iowa Center for interment. He came to this county at an early day, and was well and favorably know to many of our people who were almost shocked at the sudden close of a long and useful life. He had been ill only a few days.
