Ames Intelligencer: ....Mrs. J. B. Swearingen died at her home near Soper's mill Wednesday of last week. Funeral services were held in the Pleasant Grove church on Friday, conducted by Rev. J. R. McIntire....

Story City Herald: ....Mrs. Swarengen was buried at Pleasant Grove last Friday, March 1st. The funeral was preached by Rev. NacIntire of Ames. Mr. Swarengen is proprietor of what is generally known as Soper's Mill.
