From Story County Watchman April 13, 1900

DIED:--At his residence in this city on Wednesday after a linger illness, Chas. H. Cobleith, aged 65 years and nine months. He was born in Northfield, Vt., leaving there at the age of 17 years. At the opening of the rebellion he was in Illinois and went out in Co. B 88th Illinois Infantry, and served three years. Upon his return he engaged in work with the Northwestern Railway Company and was for severeal years station agent at this point as well as at Missouri Valley. He engaged in farming in Monona county but removed to this city later an dingaged the grocery business. In October 1868, he was married to Miss Jennie Hoag, of this city who survives him together sith one son and two daughters, Chas. E. of Coleridge, Neb., and Misses Hattie and Ada. The funeral services were held at the residence under the conduct of Rev. Sanford who gave them a fine discourse. The other services were under the direction of the Masonic Lodge of this city of which he was a member and who turned out in their uniforms for the occasion. He was also an honored member of the Grand Army of the Republic in this city and was held in high esteem by them as well as by all neighbors.

IN MEMORIAM.--The following resolutions were adopted at the recent meetin of Nevada Lodge No. 77 of Masons of this city:

WHEREAS; It has pleased the Grand Architect to take from the earthly tabernacle the soul of our Brother Charles H. Cobleigh on April 11, 1900, and to transfer it to the house not made with hands; therefore,
RESOLVED: That we bow in submission to the Divine Will in this bereavement of Nevada Lodge No. 99 feeling that our loss is the gain of him who was a true and faithful brother among us.
RESOLVED: That we tender to the bereaved family our sincere sympathy.
RESOLVED: That the usual badge of mourning is hereby directed to be worn for thirty days.
RESOLVED: That the press of thsi city be furnished with a copy of these resolutions with a request to publish the same and copy thereof be furnished the family of deceased.

IN MEMORIAM.--WHEREAS, It has pleased the Divine Providence to remove by death our worthy comrade, C. H. Cobleigh, to that country from which no traveler returns, therefore be it
RESOLVED: By Jason D. Ferguson Post No. 31 Dept. of Iowa, that while we bow with humble submission to the will of Him who "doeth all things well," we deeply feel the loss of a worthy comrade and member of our post.
RESOLVED: That we extend to the family of our departed comrade our heartfelt sympathy in their loss of a kind husband and father and commend them to the care of Him who had proven to be a father to the widow and the fatherless.
RESOLVED: That his chair in the Post be draped for 30 days and that a copy hereof be presented to the family and made of record on our books.
