Maxwell Tribune: ....Eliza Layton was born in Jefferson county Ind., August 27, 1840 and died in Iowa Center, March 11, 1900, aged 59 years, 6 months 14 days. She was married to Wm. Guge, Nov. 19, 1865, in Tipton county, Ind., where they resided till 1868, coming from there to Story county, Iowa, which place has been their home to the present time.
