DIED--At the residence of Mike McNichols in this city on Friday night, Stephen E. McNichols, aged 61 years. Mr. McNichols, was born in Ireland and at an early age came to this country and made it his permanant home and one of its most enthusiastic citizens. The funeral was held Monday under the direction of Father Nichols and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery at this place.

Below we give the Obituary of Mr. S. E. McNichols which should have appeared last week but was delayed owing to not having proper facts at hand:
OBITUARY.
Mr. Steven Eugene McNichols, a Mine owner of Bute City, Montana, died Satuday, September the 30th at 12:20 a. m. at the home of his brother, Michael McNichols in this city. He was taken sick with paralysis in Chicago about five weeks previous to his death. His borther Michael went to Chicago, took care of him and brought him to his home where he remained until he died. The deceased was born in the County Mayo, Ireland, 61 years ago. When 16 years of age he came with the family and settled in Syracuse, New York. In 1857, the family moved to Fondu lac, Wisconsin, where he was married and raised a family of seven children, three daughters and one son of whom survive him. The deceased was a widower for 21 years. In 1879 he move to Bute City, Montana, where he has since been engaged in the mining business. His funeral took place from St. Patricks Church Monday, October 2nd, at 10:30 a. m., where a Requiem Mass was offered for the repose of his soul. An appropriate funeral sermon was preached on the occasion by the pastor Father Nichols. His remains were interred in the Catholic Cemetery.
