One of the oldest settlers in Story county in the person of A. U. Stuart of Gilbert, passed away on Sunday evening at the age of 87 years at his residence in that town. He is one of the oldest men in the county and one of the pioneers. He was a leader in the township of Franklin and held numerous officers of trust and profit during his sojourn with us. His many friends here will not be greatly surprised at the end while hoping the time might yet have been in the distant future.
