OBITUARY

Harriet Whitaker was born in Allen Co. Ohio, July 27, 1841, and with her parents moved to Iowa in 1855. She was married to Thos. Whitaker Feb. 17, 1859, and settled on their farm in Nevada twp., Story Co., Ia., where they have since resided until her death on Oct. 15, 1899, at an age of 58 years 2 months 18 days. Six children besides her husband are left to mourn her death. They are all residents of Story Co., Ia. The services were held in the Summit Evangelical church of which she was a member on Tuesday at 11 a. m. conducted by the pastor and Rev. G. W. Mullen, after which interment was made in the cemetery at that place.
