OBITUARY.--Eddie M., son of Ellen and A. E. Gilchrist, born June 13, 1884, died near Ontario April 27, 1899, aged 14 years, 10 months and 14 days. The funeral services were conducted by W. H. Zenor of the Christian church. The text from which the discourse was delivered: "Suffer little children to come unto me." Eddie deserves more than passing notice though he has been a sufferer for more than four years he has borne it all without a murmer, not only so but never grew fretful nor pevish for the sixteen weeks that he fought the battle of life with his last and dreadful enemy consumption. He was the ideal boy of our vicinity, he never was the boy to five parents an unkind word, always showing his appreciation for th least favor done him; even when handed a glass of water about ten minutes before he died in a whisper he said thank you mamma, this expression verified the old maxim "As he lives so he dies." All was done for Eddie that loving parents could do and their loss is his gain. His dying words will be a great comfort to them. He was laid to rest beside a baby brother and two sisters in the cemetery in Ontario.

And thy loss we deeply feel
But T'is God who has bereft us
He can all our sorrows heal.
