DIED:--The Kansas, of Concordia, Kan., of the 13th inst., gives the following account of the death of Chas. W. Boster a brother of F. M. of this placeL
Chas. W. Boster was born Jan. 7 1852 and died April 8, 1899 aged 47 years 3 months and 1 day. Deceased was born in Burlington, iowa, on January 7, 1852. He was married to the wife he left to mourn his untimely death at Bennington, Kansas, twenty-two years ago. Eight children were born to them, five of whom are living, three boy and two girls. Mr. Boster had lived in this town quite a number of years and was well known to every person in the town as he was messenger for the Pacific Express Company and delivered the mails to and from the postoffice. The suddenness of Chas. Boster's death shocked the remotest corners of the townsite. He had gone to Bert Walter's barber shop along in the afternoon to get shaved. While he was in the barber's chair he became sick. Whe he had been shaved he sat down in a window ledge to rest and wile sitting in that position was taken with a convulsive action of the body that caused him to break the glass out. He at once realized that he was in the throes of death. A messenger was sent after Drs. Priest and Raines. They came as soon as possible but he only lived a few moments after their arrival. They declared apoplexy as the cause of his death. He was buried on Saturday, the funeral taking place at the Methodist Church at four o'clock. The Workmen and Woodmen called special meetings at their lodge rooms and marched to his late residence in one body to accompany the remains to their last resting place. His family was protected in the three organizations to the amount of $7,000--Workmen $2,000; Woodmen $3000, Knights and Ladies of Security $3000.
