From Story County Watchman April 7, 1899

On Tuesday the funeral of Milo T. Corbin occurred at the Lutheran church to the north-east of this city under the ministrations of Rev. Shrader. Mr. Corbin was one of those returned by government from Cuba where he died from disease some time since. He was a private in the first regular cavarly and was all throught the hottest of the fighting in that island, but fell before the missmic influence of the climate. The remains were escorted toward their final resting place by the Jason D. Ferguson Post members under the lead of Commander Ayers who gave the required services for the occasion. The parents of the deceased and relatives are to be consoled by the fact that he was one of the brave soldier boys who gave their lives at the call of their country, and particularly is this the case of his aged parents.
