Ames Intelligencer: ....Jacob Brotherton died at his home in Grant township Sunday last. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Blackman.

Ames Watchman.

On the 12th inst., Jacob Brotherton of south west Grant died at his home aged about eighty four years. He has long been a resident of the township and stands well as a man of probity and character with his many friends and neighbors.
