John P. Bentley died last Sabbath night, aged 79. He and his family had lived in this part of the country for over 40 years, most of the time on a farm, but for the last few years in town on account of increasing age and infirmaties. He was a good citizen and a man highly esteemed by all who knew him. The funeral was held in the C. P. church on Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. and was conducted by Rev. Ferguson assisted by Rev. Doty. The music was furnished by the C. P. choir, with Mrs. F. W. Hill at the organ. The pall bearers were: Wm. Starr, J. R. Wood, G. W. Boitnott, R. R. Thompson, W. G. Dickey and John Hall. Mr. B. leaves an aged widow and the daughters, viz: Mrs. S. B. John and Mrs. Joe Yeaton of Maxwell; and Mrs. Henry Olinger of Perry. There are also a number of grandchildren.
