Obituary.

Julia Ann Alldredge was born in Tennessee, Feb. 4th, 1822. At the age of ten years she removed, with the parents, to Indiana, where she was, May 20, 1840, married to Mr. John L. Thomas. In 1855 they came to Story County, they resided here in happy companionship until her death, March 17th, 1898. Mrs. Thomas was the mother of eleven children. Two of them died in childhood and nine, six sons and three daughters, live to mourn her sad loss. About five years ago she had a stroke of paralysis which was at intervals followed by others finally resulting in her death. When twelve years of age Mrs. Thomas was converted and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church of which she was a faithful member for sixty-four years. The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. G. McVicker, at the New Hope C. P. church on Friday. The sermon being preached by Rev. J. W. Henderson from the text: "Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his." Num. 23:10. To the last her faith in her Savior was strong and triumphant. Her husband has lost a faith ful companion, her children a loving mother and all a true friend.
