On Friday last A. J. Hawley died at his home in Ames from a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Hawley was well known in this city as well as in Ames and Colo. He has lived in Ames some ten years having gone there from Colo. He was born in New York in 1848. He moved to Colo in 1878, and there engaged in buying and selling stock, afterward moving to Ames where he started a creamery. He sold the creamery and engaged in the laundry business in which he was engaged at the time. The funeral was held Sunday under the direction of the Masonic and K. P. orders, the sermon being given by Prof. Wynn. He leaves a wife and relatives to mourn his loss.

Ames Watchman.
The funeral of A. J. Hawley was held at the home in south Ames Sunday p. m. at 2 o'clock. He being an honored member of both the Masonic and K. P orders, both lodges attended the funeral. The Mason having charge of it.
