From Story County Watchman October 27, 1897

Nellie Paxton, the 13-year-old daughter of Mr. Paxton died at his home on Saturday night after a brief illness and was buried Sunday. She will be greatly missed by her playmates all of whom are sorry to know that the end is here. Mr. Paxton is also seriously ill at this writing.
