DIED.--On Tuesday, August 10, at her home in this city, Mrs. James Batman, aged about 49 years. Ovanda Ann Perkhiser was born in Salem, Indiana, April 26, 1848, and was married to James Batman in Lawrence county, Indiana, September 25, 1865, coming to this state in 1866, settling in Nevada, where they have resided ever since. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her loss and look forward to the atime of meeting in the great beyond, Arvil, Anna, Frank and Albert, besides her parents, Michael Perkhiser and wife, and brother and sisters. The services were held at the residence of Mr. Batman on Linn street, under the direction of Rev. Shrader of the Luteran shurch and the remains were laid to rest in the Nevada cemetery to await the call of the resurrection morn. Mrs. Batman has long been a sufferer and the end came as a great relief to her but a sad one to sorrowing relatives and friends. She was well and favorably known for her many sterling qualities and her many friends will miss her kindly greetings and aid wherever it was within her power to aid them in any way.
