From Story County Watchman July 2, 1897

Monday morning Frank Liddle, a former resident of Franklin township, committed suicide at Cedar Rapids through despondency probably caused from lack of work. He leaves a wife and children to mourn over his sad end. He has brothers in this county and other relatives who were promptly notified and who did all they could to assist the bereaved family in this hour of trial.
