From Story County Watchman December 18, 1896

Sunday morning Andrew Hart, living near LaMoille was killed by a person whom he caught in the house when he came down stairs in the morning. The party committing the murder escaped by jumping through a window. Prompt search was made but no trace of the party has been found. He has been reported captured a number of times but they have turned out not true.
