Maxwell Tribune: Mathew S. McPherson was born June 13, 1826, in Leesburg, Tenn. In 1848 he married Miss Catherine Brubaker. In 1852 he moved with his family to Iowa and settled in what is known as "Keokuk Prairie." About forty years ago he united with the Brethren church, of which he was a member when he died. He is now gone but not forgotten. Died Sept. 22, 1896, at the ripe old age of 70 years....
