Maxwell.

John Gardner died at his home one mile west of town on Thursday evening the 16th, at the advanced age of 84 years. H was born in England, but came to America when 21 years of age. He leaves an aged widow and sever frown up childen, the youngest of which is Mrs. Chas. Jarville, now living in the Sherman place in Nevada township. Mr. G. was a good man and highly respected by this entire community. The funeral took place in the C. P. church here on Sabbath at 11 a. m., Rev. Ferguson conducting the services, assisted by Revs. Bodenham and Doty. It was one of the largest funerals ever held in Maxwell.
