Ames Intelligencer: ....Mrs. Sarah Millhouse, the wife of a farmer living near Creighton, Nebraska, arrived in Ames Monday to visit her sister, Mrs. D. D. Bales, Wednesday as she and Mrs. Bales were walking down town Mrs. Millhouse complained of the too rapid gait, and a second later that she was not feeling well and asked that a doctor be sent for. She was taken into the house of John Smith, near the motor line, and died within a few minutes. Mrs. Millhouse leaves nine children with the husband and father, to mourn for her. Two of the little girls are here and their grief is touching. She was in her forty-first year. Her father, Russel Carpenter, lives at Maxwell, and it is probable that she wil be laid to rest in the Maxwell cemetery. Mrs. Millhouse had written Mrs. Bales to keep her coming a secret from her parents, as she wished to surprise them. A sad surprise it proved to be, freighted with sobs and heartbreaking.

Maxwell Murmurings.

Mrs. George Millhouse, of Knox county, Neb., who died suddenly at Ames last Wednesday evening (4th) was brought her on Friday evening and the funeral was held in the C. P. church on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. R. A. Ferguson conducted the service, assisted by Revs. Bentley and Doty. The music was furnished by the M. E. choir, as the C. P. choir was at the Mt. Zion church singing for the Miller funeral. Mrs. Millhouse was the daughter of Mr. Russell Carpenter and wife of this place. She had come on a visit with her relatives here and stopped first to spend a few days with her sister, Mrs. D. D. Bales, in Ames, intending to come to Maxwell on Thursday. Mrs. B. was arranging to come with her. They started down street together on Wednesday evening, when she was taken suddenly ill, taken into a house, where she expired in a few moments. The husband was notified and arrived in time for the funeral. She was buried in the Peoria cemetery, as some members of the family already had been buried there. She leaves a husband, nine children, her father and mother, two sisters and one brother to mourn her loss.
