DIED--At Eureka Springs, Ark., November 8, after an illness of some duration, Mrs. Martha Alice Burgess, wife of J. Q. Burgess, aged 42 years. She recently went to that place for the benefit of her health which was delicate, but the end came suddenly and unexpectedly while away from home with only strangers near with the exception of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, of this city, who were also at the springs for their health. She was a native of Indiana, and was married to Mr. Burgess at Dublin, Ind., in January, 1876. The following year they came to Lincoln township, Story county, and afterwards to Nevada, where they since made their home. She was a member of the Methodist church, of this city, and the last rites were held under the direction of Rev. Horswell, of that society, assisted by Rev. Shrader, of the Lutheran. She leaves a husband to mourn her loss.
