The Ames Watchman

News came to Mr. Miller of Slater, last week, that Miss Birdie Miller, daughter of Rev. I. Miller, (formerly of Ames and a divine of M. E. church, was scalded to death at Washington Ty. while preparing to take a vapor bath. Upon entering the room she was overcome with heat and sat down to revive herself and then as she started to go from the room she struck the stove upon which was some boiling water, throwing it all over Miss M. who had nothing upon her body excepting a heavy woolen blanket which only increased the torture. Miss M.'s many friends are very much grieved at this news.
