From Story County Watchman January 18, 1895

The Ames Watchman

The six months old babe of Mr. and Mrs. Boone died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Horr on Thursday. Mrs. Horr and Mrs. Boone are sisters, and Mrs. Boone and two children were spending the winter at the home of Mrs. Horr. After a prayer by Rev. F. J. Douglass and a duet, "Watching and Waiting for Me," by the Cramblit sisters, on Friday morning the remains were taken to Waterloo, Iowa, for burial. Little Jerald was a victim of bronchitis. He had been a sufferer for several weeks and at last has gone to "Make up His Jewels," in that better world beyond.

From out a life of toil and care,
Of crosses heavy and burdens sore,
A soul may bloom to beauty rare,
That shall not fade forevermore.
