Slater News: ....Mrs. Mary C. Harter, aged 67 years died at the home of her son S. Clark*, living south west of Slater, Monday of last week....

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Mary Harter's son was Sanford Clark (1853-1894). In the 1870 Madison Twp., Polk County, Iowa census, he is listed as "Clark Harter" with his mother, Mary, and his step-father P. J. Harter.
