DIED--On Tuesday, the 10th inst.about noon, I. A. Ringheim was a native of Norway being born in Voss, in 1835, and was the fifth of seven children. He was raised as a farmer in the country. In 1856 he came to the United States and settled at Decorah, in Winneshiek county, where he worked on a farm for a short time when he entered a store as a clerk, and remained four years. In 1865 he came to Nevada and entered into partnership with Mr. Johnson, the firm being known as Johnson & Ringheim. At the time of his death he was the oldest merchant in the city, having been continuously in business since that time, his present building being upon the same lot as the one in which he commenced at that time. In 1867 he was married to Mrs. Lorinda T. Johnson, by whom he had three children, of which two survive. After her death, he married in 1874, Miss Jennie Sime, by whom he had 8 children. Mrs. R. and the children are left behind to mourn his loss.
Mr. Ringheim was of a quiet and retiring disposition, but in the face of this fact he has repeatedly held positions of trust and responsibility which were thrust upon him by his neighbors who knew of this worth and the interest he took in the positions, which notably were to look after the interests of the school and city governments. He was a member of the Lutheran church, and one of the main pillars thereof. The funeral exercises were held yesterday at his late residence under the supervision of Rev. Schnur of the Lutheran church.
Of his probity and strict integrity it is needless to refer, as it is well known to all who have had business or social relations with him. That he will be missed by the entire community is a foregone conclusion. All bow to the ways of providence in humility and prayer.
