Slater News: ....Lars Valen, a young Norwegian boy aged sixteen years who has been working on a farm near Kelley, met with an accident which resulted in his death. He fell off a wagon striking with the full weight of his body on the hub of one of the wheels, he thought nothing of the fall at the time, but in the evening after he had done the chores, he began to feel sick and the doctor was sent for, but was unable to do him any good and Saturday evening he died.
