The Ames Watchman
Sunday night Wm. Reynolds was killed by the cars at this place. No one saw the accident happen but it is known that he was under the influence of liquor and had stated that he was going to beat his way to Boone. The train was taking water at the tank near the depot and when it started up he was caught under the wheels of the engine and his head cut off and to a certain extent mutilating the head. The train was stopped not more than a couple of cars length west of the tank and the train men and others rushed to the horrible scene. He was about 23 years of age and had been engaged in working in the Times office.
