From Story County Watchman April 7, 1893

DIED--At the residence of his son John Shedd, in Early, Iowa, on Sunday last Hubbard Shedd, aged 98 years. Mr. Shedd was the father of Chas. E. Shedd of this city and resided here for a number of years therefore is well known to most our citizens. He was a native of the State of Vermont. He was taken ill and died suddenly being sick only a few hours. The funeral was quite largely attended.
