Word was received here the first of the week that W. E. Wier had died at the home of his father in Story City. He was telegraph operator at this station for several years, and while here was married to Miss Reid, who survives him with two children. He was one of the best men in the employ of the Northwestern, and they kept him in places of responsibility all the time.
