Maxwell.

Word has been received here that Wm. Cook, a young man from Peoria, near this place, who had been to Minnesota, and was on his return, was badly hurt by th cars near Perry, but we have no particulars. His father and mother were summoned by telegraph, and went at once.

John William Cook, who was so severely hurt by the cars near Perry last Monday a week ago died on Thursday morning, and the remains were brought here the same evening, and taken to the old home in Peoria. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. Ferguson, assisted by Rev. Doty. It was a hard blow on the parents and the other members of the family.
