DIED.--Lew Otis, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Higley, P. M., at Iowa Centre was born in Jasper Co. Iowa Jan. 11th, 1876, and died in Iowa Centre, Iowa, Aug. 22nd, 1890. Lew was a very intelligent boy and in school usually stood at the head of his classes. Among his associates he was kind and obliging. At home he was gentle and affectionate, economical and industrious, always ready to assist in household affairs.
IN MEMORIAM.
WHEREAS: It has pleased Almighty God to remove from our midst our dear, esteemed, and worthy brother Lew O. Higley, and
WHEREAS: We, as Good Templars, desire to testify to our appreciation of his labor in our lodge, his praiseworthy life, his many virtues and our sorrow at this loss. Therefore, be it
Resolved: That while we bow with submission to the will of our Heavenly Father, we feel no less keenly the severing of earthly ties that bound him to us as a brother.
Resolved: That the memory of his faithfulness, and his integrity to the principles of our order willever remain in our memory and prompt us to better deeds and higher aspirations; and we hereby extend to his bereaved parents, brother, mother and relatives our heart-felt sympathy in this sad affliction.
Resolved: That our lodge room be draped in mourning for a period of thirty days, and that these resolutions be spread upon our minutes and a copy presented to the sorrowing family and one furnished the Maxwell Tribune, Cambridge Garland and the Nevada papers for publication.
