DIED.--Feb. 13th, 1890, of Pneumonia and La Grippe, John Grove. The deceased was born 1855, in La Salle County, Ill., where he grew to manhood and married after which he moved to Story Co., Iowa, locating in Nevada township, where, by his genial nature, strict integrity, morality and many other manly virtues he soon wone the hearts of the entire community. In his life here is much to admire and emulate he possessed rare moral characteristics, he could rejoice in the prosperity of a neighbor as though it was his own, and in adversity was ever ready to express hearty sympathy and give assistance, he came as near obeying the command to love thy neighbor as thyself, as it is possible for one to attain to in this busy age. His death has left a vacant place in the community and all agree that one best citizen has been taken from us. He died happy in hope of that life to come, trusting in him who hath said, thou shalt not seek my face in vain. His wife and two children have the sympathy in their loss of all who knew the kind, loving, husband and father.

The following resolutions were passed by Haromony Alliance No. 906 of which deceased was a member:
WHEREAS, It has pleased the Supreme Ruler to remove from labor here, to rest eternal, our well beloved Brother John Grove, of this Alliance on February 14th, 1896, therefore.

RESOLVED, That, we extend to the family and friends of our brother, our most sincere cympathy in their sudden bereavement and assurance of our prayers, that the Father of us all may guard and keep them as in the hollow of his hand.
