DIED.--At the home of his parents, four miles southwest of McCallsburg, Saturday, April 13th, 1889, Howard Byron, son of John P. and Ray Nella Hesson, aged one year seven month and nineteen days.
This was a sudden death. The little boy was playing about the house, and seemingly as well as usual, but about noon he came running to his mother and gasping for breath. She thinking he had got choked in some way tried to relieve him, at the same time calling to the hired men who were near for help, but nothing could be done for him, and in a few moments the child was dead. Mr. Hesson who was in McCallsburg at the time was sent for and a physician called but the immediate cause of death could not be clearly determined. Mr. and Mrs. Hesson have the sympathy of the entire community in this sudden and unexpected bereavement that has come upon them. The funeral took place at the M. E. Church in Johnson Grove on Monday 15th and was largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. J. M. O'Flynn, of Colo, and Rev. R. A. Ferguson, of Nevada, after which the remains were interred in the cemetery there.
