On Friday evening as some parties were bathing near Maxwell, a young man named Lawson was seen to be strangling and one C. E. Winslow went to his assistance, and in attempting to save the life of his friend he was also carried under the water. Soon the word spread and the citizens proceeded to rake the creek and the bodies were recovered. They reside near Madrid and their parents were notified and came. The bodies were taken to that place for interment.
