FREEPORT, ILL., Dec. 8th--Mrs. O. H. Wright, a very highly esteemed lady, and one of the earliest settlers of Freeport, passed away this afternoon at the residence of her son, Hon. W. O. Wright. The lady was only ill a few day, and her death is greatly deplored in social and church circles. She was 68 years of age and a native of Durham, England. In 1838 she was married to O. H. Wright, who was a merchant in Freeport and the first probate judge an recorder in Stephenson county. He died in 1851, after having been instrumental in bringing the first railroad here and doing a great deal for the city. Mrs. Wright was one of the first member of the First Presbyterian church, and was noted for her benevolence.

Mrs. Col. Scott, of this place was a daughter of Mrs. Wright, who was at Freeport last week. Mrs. Wright was quite well known here having repeatedly visited her daughter and was highly esteemed by all her acquaintances.
