Mrs. Henry Miller died at her residence north of Nevada the last of the week at quite an advanced age, leaving a grown up family.--The remains were taken to Rising Sun for interment.

DIED.--On the 6th day of Aug. 1886, near Nevada, Mrs. Eliza Miller.

Mrs. Miller was born Jan. 24th, 1818, in Fayette County, Penn. Her maiden name was Eliza Barton. She was converted at a camp meeting held in Fayette County, near Uniontown, in the fall of 1833, in her 15th year, and joined the Methodist Protestant Church under the labors of James Robinson and for 53 years lived a devoted Christian life in that church. She moved with her parents to Indiana in the fall of 1843 and settled in Clark County and remained thus eight years, and then with her parents moved to Polk county, Iowa, in the fall of 1852. They lived in Polk County until the fall of 1863, and, then settled on the farm where she died, in Story County, two miles north of Nevada. She was the mother of four children, 2 boys and 2 girls, three of whom are now living. The first born died in infancy and preceded her to the Spirit Land. She raised four nephews of her brother, one of Allen Bartons who is now living in Dakota, near Rapids City, and three of Samuel C. Bartons children who lives in Osborne County, Kansas. When they hear of her death they will feel very sad for she cared for them as mother after theirs had past away. She also raised two girls, the daughters of M. K. and Ella Ramsey. It was the mothers request when she died in Nebraska that the children should be given to her. They are now young ladies and watched over her in her last sickness, as devoted daughters.

Three of her brothers were ministers Leonard Barton, who died two years ago, near Oskaloosa, a member of the Protestant Methodist Conference for many years; Samuel C. Barton, a local preacher in the M. E. Church, who died at Osborne county, Kansas, and A. J. Barton, a member of Des Moines Conference of the M. E. Church.

Sister Millers remains were taken to Polk County for interment and buried in the grave yard near Rising Sun, where many of the family sleep. Her life was commendable to all that knew her and our loss is her direct gain. While husband and children miss her they know that she is present at rest with God and the redeemed, waiting and watching for them, and may they all follow her example and at last meet her in glory with the redeemed.
