The following resolution passed by the Masonic Lodge of this place at their recent meeting on the decease of Mr. Sam'l Butt:

WHEREAS, It has pleased the Supreme Master to call from among us on the 15th day of February, A. D., 1886, our esteemed Brother, Samuel Butt.

Resolved, That in his death Nevada Lodge has lost one of its most exemplary members, one who though quiet in deportment, was always careful that his conduct should be in full accord with the tenents of our time-honored institution. This community in which he lived has lost an honorable and upright citizen, his family a devoted and faithful husband and father.

We deeply deplore the loss and sincerely regret his death and extend to the wife and children our heartfelt sympathy.
